This is not a protest, but an opportunity for all to get together, stand as one, and for cases to be discussed and recorded with us.

Those able to attend are invited to meet, connect, and participate in a group photograph. Exact location details TBC.

It is recognised that some will engage online only. Nevertheless, through both physical presence and wider participation, it is intended that this ongoing issue receives the attention it has long warranted.

About

Why This Resource Exists

Some residents have reported receiving charges they believe to be incorrect, and appeals processes to be lacking any discretionary element. Furthermore, it is noted that a high number of private parking companies are not as yet aligned to the Private Parking Code of Practice Consultation Report (September 2025) findings and upcoming changes.

The most vulnerable and disadvantaged are amongst those falling foul of the processes and appeals structures, where fines escalate and bailiffs are instructed. The community recognises the need for parking to be regulated, but not for such practices that currently impose the types of cases we are hearing coming forward from Ascot residents.

This community resource aims to:

  • Provide information about known issues at specific locations
  • Share guidance on appealing charges that may be incorrect
  • Connect residents who have been affected
  • Support wider scrutiny of private parking enforcement practices

Following the matters raised through the Private Parking Code of Practice Consultation (2025) undertaken by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG), it is our considered position that there remains substantial merit in continued scrutiny, public discourse, and accountability in relation to private land parking enforcement.

Progress

Positive Developments

The appeal letter template has been useful to several parties in challenging charges they believed to be incorrect.

We have been able to establish constructive dialogue with several parties and stakeholders that has been positive. We await others to come to the table.
